After the 1794 version, there were also more copies invented, but this first new production became more valuable.
At Stack Bower’s Galleries auction, in the presence of many rare coin dealers, the 1794 Flowing Hair Dollar was sold for over $10 million in the year 2013, which was bought by Bruce Morelan, a Las Vegas coin collector.
1927 D. St. Gaudens Double Eagle-The last gold currency struck in the US
When it was invented, it wasn't that rare because all at once 180,000 original copies were produced. This gold coin has a face value of $20, and presently there are only a few copies left in the market. The main reason for these few left out is that in 1933’s executive order, many people had to exchange their coin collections for currency. And, some of the coin collection were melted into gold bars by the government.
As per the numismatic experts, there are only 11–15 copies left till date. The limited version of these coins became the most valuable and rarest among old coin buyers.
- In 2002, the Denver mint released one of the 1927 D. St. Gaudens Double Eagle gold coins, which was sold for $7.59 million by Weitzman in the year 2002.
- 1913 Liberty Head coin- The most sought-after rarity in American numismatics.
The United States Mint produced five copies of the 1913 Liberty Head Nickel coin. It is to be said that Samuel Brown, a coin collector and a mint member, invented this coin for the record. It is also to be said that these five copies of nickel antique coins are present, of which two copies are in private collections and three in museums.
One of the Liberty Head coins of 1913 production, of which Elisaberg's copy is the most valuable, & was sold for $3.7 million in the year 2010.
